In this series, developed since 2013, the sky occupies most of the canvas.
To me, the sky in Spain feels infinitely vaster than in Japan.
Whether due to the low-lying cityscape or my own state of mind, the sky of this land always confronts me with an overwhelming breadth.
The sky is a mysterious entity that directly reflects the viewer’s inner mind.
Perhaps that is why, as a painter, I never tire of gazing at it.

2013年より手がけている本シリーズでは、キャンバスの多くを「空」が占める独自の構図を展開しています。
私にとって、スペインの空は日本よりも遙かに大きく感じられます。
街並みの低さゆえか、あるいはその時の心のあり様なのか。
理由はわかりませんが、私にとってこの地の空は、いつでも圧倒的な広さをもって迫ってきます。
空は不思議な存在です。見る人の心をそのまま映し出し、あぶり出してしまう。
だからこそ、絵描きである私は空を見飽きることがないのかもしれません。
